Welcome to Caleb's Mac SE page!
Ah, yes, the good old days! When only a meg was enough.
Your Mac SE should look something like this one, minus the GAMERS.COM bumpersticker.
Your SE mother board should look like this one.
This is what your SE processor should look like. 8 mhz of 1986 processing power!
Now to put an end to the age old question of how to open your Mac SE.
YOU OPEN YOUR MAC SE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
THIS VOIDS ANY WARANTEE THAT YOU MAY STILL HAVE!
First, find a T-15 screwdriver that is long enough to reach past that blasted handle.
It should look something like this:
Secound, locate the four screws that secure the plastic back shell to the front shell.
They can be found here:
And past the handle here:
Third, remove all four of the screws.
Fourth, place your Mac SE on some hard level ground or table top.
fifth, SEE that crack the forms between the front and the back? Place your hands in that crack on both sides!
Something like this:
Use your hand to kind of lift and pri at the same time.
Be shure that you only lift off the back part and not the whole thing!
You could end up breaking the thing.
Once you remove the back it should look like this:
Be shure that you DO NOT TOUCH THAT CRT!!!
Finaly your Mac SE is apart. Give yourself a pat on the back and have a coke. Job well done.
As you may have noticed my Mac SE is an early SE your cage my look diffrent:
Note how my SE has a cage that goes over not under.
Thanks for viewing and remember you do any and all mods at your own risk!
Don't try to blame anything on me!
